Lake Resources Enters Final Stage of Kachi Environmental Approvals Process
as Catamarca Authorities Initiate Public Consultation
• Catamarca Ministry of Mining officially commences the public
consultation phase for the flagship Kachi Project.
• Public consultation will begin 3 August 2026 and is expected to conclude
31 August 2026.
• Lake team mobilized and fully resourced to support host communities,
local stakeholders, and regional authorities during consultation.
• Represents the final administrative stage of the EIA approval process,
prior to the issuance of the Environmental Impact Declaration (“DIA”),
which is the formal decision issued by the mining authority approving
the Project from an environmental perspective and establishing the
conditions and requirements for its development.
Lake Resources N.L. (ASX: LKE; OTC: LLKKF) (“Lake” or “the Company”) provides
an important update on the regulatory pathway for its flagship Kachi Lithium Brine
Project (“Kachi” or “Project”), located in Catamarca Province, Argentina.
Following the completion of the inter-agency technical evaluation phase by the
provincial Ministry of Mining, the Catamarca authorities have formally initiated the
statutory public consultation phase. The public consultation phase will begin 3 August
2026 and is expected to conclude on 31 August 2026.
This is the final administrative process directly preceding the compilation of the
evaluation report and the determination of Kachi’s DIA (Declaración de Impacto
Ambiental), which, consistent with Lake’s prior public disclosures, is expected by 30
September 2026.
Active Community Presence and Engagement Readiness
Lake is committed to transparency and engagement with our host communities.
Lake's community relations team in Catamarca is fully mobilized to ensure all
stakeholders have comprehensive access to the Project’s data, environmental
safeguards, and socio-economic participation models.
Kachi’s world-class Direct Lithium Extraction (“DLE”) process, engineered alongside
technology partner Lilac Solutions, was built from the ground up to protect the
region's unique ecosystem. Lake looks forward to highlighting these key
environmental attributes during the consultation process:
• Subterranean Brine Preservation: An advanced extraction-reinjection loop
designed to return more than 95% of processed brine back into its native
aquifer, maintaining hydrogeological balance.
• Freshwater Safeguards: Complete isolation of the lithium processing
facility from local freshwater resources, strictly adhering to regional water
governance.
• Minimized Surface Footprint: The elimination of traditional, massive
evaporation ponds, significantly mitigating land disturbance and preserving
local high Andean wetlands.
Lake Resources Managing Director and CEO, David Dickson, said:
"We welcome the formal opening of this public consultation phase by the Catamarca
authorities. We highly value this phase as it focuses on our most important partners—
the local communities.
"We have spent years engaging and working with local stakeholders and our
technology was specifically chosen because it protects local water resources and
minimizes land disruption, directly reflecting the priorities of the community.
"We look forward to an active, respectful, and constructive dialogue over the next 30
days as we work collaboratively toward securing our final Environmental Impact
Declaration and advancing Kachi into a sustainable, producing asset."
Next Steps
Following the successful conclusion of this feedback and interactive window, the
Catamarca Ministry of Mining is expected to proceed with the final compilation of the
evaluation report to determine the issuance of the DIA, which represents the primary
environmental and social permit required to make Kachi shovel-ready and transition
Kachi toward commercial construction.
